Fix a typo in your plate

In short: a saved plate can’t be edited, so fix a typo with a free plate swap in the app. Your license plate is your permit, so make sure it’s spelled right.

Steps

1. Log in and open Vehicles Check the plate and state on each vehicle.
2. Compare it with your car Go character by character. I or 1? O or 0?
3. Swap to the correct plate Open the vehicle, choose Replace a vehicle, enter the correct plate and state, and save. Your permit moves to the correct plate right away, with no charge. See swap a plate.

Good to know

• A typo fix is a plate swap, so it counts toward your monthly swap limit.
• Used all your swaps this month? Ask your property office. They can replace the permit with the correct plate.

Why it matters

Enforcement partners look up the plate on your car. When a plate isn’t registered but a registered plate looks almost the same, they see a close-match warning and are asked to check again before any action. A correct plate avoids the question.
